The Pope wants to hear from Young People! 

To prepare for the upcoming international Synod on "Young People, the Faith, and Vocational Discernment," the Holy Father wants online feedback from all youth and young adults, ages 16 to 29, from around the world, regardless of how active they are in the practice of the faith.  Youth and young adults, ages 16 to 29, are invited to go online and fill out the Vatican survey. When you get to the page, click box in the top right hand corner that say “italiano”.  A drop down menu will appear, select English then begin the survey. The online survey is open until November 30, 2017.

Our Lady of Lourdes Church is collecting Food for Ledyard Social Services’ annual Thanksgiving Food Basket Program.

On Saturday, 18 November at 5:00pm and Sunday 19 November at 8:30am, 11:00am, 2:00pm and 5:00pm, if you bring in a item suitable for Thanksgiving Dinner, you can wear blue jeans (or other color) to Mass. (please: non-perishables only & no glass bottles.) *Grocery gift cards are also welcome*

We’ll sort your generous donations into family size “Baskets” (Hopefully at least 12 baskets) then transport them to the Ledyard/ Gales Ferry Distribution Point

Workshop for the Bereaved

The Diocesan Catholic Family Services Office is sponsoring two workshops for the bereaved entitled: Praying Your Goodbyes. Both workshops will include time for private reflection, prayer and journaling, and will give participants suggestions on how to navigate the upcoming holidays, and discover ways to grow through the experience of their loss. It will be offered on Sunday, November 19 from 1:30 to 4 P.M. at St. Francis of Assisi Church Hall, 10 Elm St., Middletown. There is no cost for the workshop, but registration is required.

Join us for an evening of questions and answers about our Faith!  Ask questions about Advent Traditions as well as any other Faith Traditions you have always wondered about! Ledge Light Health Department (LLHD) Training-On

Ledge Light Health Department (LLHD) Training-On Saturday 2 December between 9 AM and 12 PM, the LLHD will be at Our Lady of Lourdes Hall to provide training for all who want to better understand what must be done to clean our Kitchen/Hall, prepare meals, store food prior to serving and serve meals per their guidelines. There will be FREE doughnuts and coffee, 2 ½ hours of lecture followed by a short (~ 30 minute) quiz. All parishioners of Our Lady of Lourdes, Sacred Heart and St Mary, Mother of the Redeemer are invited. Please call Bill Souder to register @ 860-464-6218 (any-time BEFORE 8:30 PM). Young Adult Mass With Bishop Cote

On Sunday, December 3rd, St. Joseph’s in Willimantic is delighted to host Bishop Michael Cote for the 1st Annual Diocesan Mass & Reception for Young Adults. All Young Adults (ages 18 - 39, single and married) are invited and encouraged to attend!  We encourage Young Adults to invite friends to join us! Mass with the Bishop will begin at 11:15am and following liturgy there will be a coffee social in the hall.

Annual Convocation for Priests

The Annual Convocation for Priests will be held from December 4-6, 2017, at Gurney’s Newport Resort on Goat Island in Newport, RI. It will be a time for all priests to gather with their bishop for spiritual renewal, support, education and rest. No parish, school or institutional activities will be scheduled during these days. Please pray for your priests, as they will be praying for you.
